May 2010 Membership Event What do you get when you combine cow bells, a man with outrageous red and yellow suits, and up to 200 volunteers cheering and running around crazy in a confined room? If you haven’t guessed, it is the time of year for the Chamber to hold its annual Membership “Event.” Only this year there will be a little bit of a different look in the room. We've decided to bring in a new "GUY" this year - replacing zoot suites with a Texas flair. Over the years the Chamber welcomed anywhere from 140 to 210 new members in just two days of hard work. Starting Tuesday, May 18 and concluding on Thursday, May 20, eight chairmen and chairwomen will lead their teams into battle. Each chair has been asked to recruit at least 5 captains who will then recruit their own team of at least 5 volunteers to work the phones in order to bring in new members. An Event celebration party/roast will take place on Thursday, May 20 to let the teams know who the big winners and whiners were. All who participate are assured to have a good time and lots of laughs while helping to advance their very own Chamber of Commerce. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Annual Golf Outing The Joliet Chamber’s Annual Golf Outing will take place on Monday, August 2nd at the Joliet Country Club.
