Chamber Night at Silver Cross Field
Friday, August 6 will be Chamber Night at Silver Cross Field. Bring your family, friends and co-workers/employees to see the Joliet Jackhammers take on the Schaumburg Flyers at 7:10 p.m. HALF PRICE TICKETS ($5.00) are available for purchase at the Chamber office. Tickets must be picked up and purchased in person at the Chamber office, located at 63 N. Chicago St., Joliet.
New Educator Breakfast
Monday, August 9 will be the 13th Annual New Educator Breakfast at Harrah's from 7:30 to 9 a.m. All new teachers and principals in the Joliet Region from public and parochial schools will be introduced to the education and business community.

Community Leadership School
Watch for upcoming information on Community Leadership School (CLS) 2010. Sessions will begin on Thursday, September 2nd and continue each Thursday for eleven weeks. Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis – only the first 40 applicants will be accepted. Contact the Chamber for further information.

Joliet Area Community Hospice will host the 8th Annual Memorial Classic Golf Outing on August 23, 2010 at Mistwood Golf Course in Romeoville. The golf outing begins with a Shotgun start and includes a complimentary lunch along with a social hour and hors d’oeuvres after golf. Single Golfers are $150 and a Foursome is $600. Early Bird Special: Single Golfer- $125; Foursome- $500 if you register before July 19.

In a just-released Report to the community, officials at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center have unveiled a total 2009 charitable impact of more than $43 million, 38 percent of this charitable giving is free care and 60 percent represents combined provisions of care not fully reimbursed from Medicaid and Medicare. In addition, Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center contributed more than $1.1 million in community benefit services, which are specific programs and activities aimed at meeting identified community health needs.
Honored for excellence in advertising in the 2010 Aster Awards, Silver Cross Hospital received three awards - two Gold and one Silver recognition in this year's competition. The Gold awards were for the Silver Cross Center for Women's Health marketing campaign, and for its Building on our Commitment Silver Cross Replacement Hospital Capital Campaign brochure. The Silver award was given for the Silver Cross Free-Standing Emergency Care Center's Oops, Ouch Oh No! marketing campaign.
A higher education publication is recognizing the University of St. Francis with its Model of Efficiency Honors.
