SPRINGFIELD DRIVE-DOWN

The Chamber’s annual Springfield Drive-Down will be on April 28-29. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Crowne Plaza.

Registration cost of $135 covers luncheon, legislative reception and dinner with area legislators at the Governor’s Mansion. This price DOES NOT include the cost of the hotel. We are filling up fast – so don’t delay.

Joliet Area Community Hospice is looking for volunteers to provide compassionate care to end of life patients and families in their homes of long-term care facilities. The next volunteer training session will be on April 24 and May 1 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Volunteers are required to attend both training days. Congratulations to the Joliet Visitors Bureau for special awards received at the 2010 Illinois Governors Conference on Tourism – Best Visitors Guide and Best Electronic Media for the “I Played in Joliet…You Should Too” campaign, as well as for creativity in development of Joliet Prison Park at the old Joliet Correctional Center.

Suzanne Sallay, Branch Manager for Manpower in Joliet, IL was recently named to Manpower’s Circle of Stars, a national recognition program that honors high performing people that excel above and beyond their peers. Sallay was among the top sales people in Manpower’s North American organization in 2009 and earned a place at the Circle of Stars Recognition Event.

Julie Reimer of Lee Wayne Corporation received a sales achievement award from HALO/Lee Wayne, one of the country’s largest exclusive distributor of promotional products. The company honored its top 200 national account executives in a ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas.

Prairie Trail Credit Union announced the recipient of its annual $1,000 CU Succeed Scholarship award for the 2010 school year. Danielle Fonck is a graduating senior at Joliet West High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the high honor roll throughout her high school years. Danielle plans to attend Joliet Junior College and Prairie State College in Chicago Heights.

First Community Bank of Joliet The Board of Directors of First Community Bank of Joliet is pleased to announce the promotion of veteran banker Terry Hackett to President of the Bank. Steven Randich, lifelong Joliet area Banker, also joins the First Community Bank of Joliet senior management team as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Senior Vice President Mike Nolan who joined First Community in 2008, has been named Chief Credit Officer. Stephen G. Morrissette will focus exclusively on First Community Financial Partners, the holding company that parents sibling bank locations other communities.
